Chci, chci a ještě jednou chci!

Sunny Sunday

It's been raining here since I came to Norway. There's not much difference between autumn/winter/spring in Bergen. My friends in Czech are enjoying sun and temperatures over 15°C and I'm trying to survive 7°C rainy spring. At least the winter and long nights are gone! If I stayed in Tallinn, the temperatures would be even worse and would have to cope with melting snow! To sum up, it's not that bad to live on the west coast.

Yr.no forecasted a nice weekend, me and a Polish friend whose name I can't pronounce (but I've decided to call him "Kryštof" which is his name in Czech :) decided to take a little trip down from the Fløien. It was awesome!

He is also as "busy" as I am, he doesn't have a girlfriend, so he's got enough time to hang out with me and practice our Norwegian. So, it was a great chance to get to know each other better because we usually meet up at the swimming pool where one usually doesn't talk too much, especially when I'm training with my Somalian coach.
Spring is in the air!

My mum in Bergen

It's been more than a month since my mum came to visit me for a few days but yesterday I found some pictures from her stay and I've decided to upload couple of them here.
Wherever I go, my mum tends to say she will visit me, except for Bulgaria, she had no interest in going there, in contrast to my dad who doesn't talk that much but makes things happen. So, at the end of my Bulgarian adventure, he took a train from his village, managed to buy a seat reservation from Sofia to Sliven (if he bought it in CZ, it would be like 400% more expensive than in Bulgaria) and came to spend some days with his daughter. We took a train back home together. It was the last long train travel for free in my life :-(

My mum has never come to England in 2007, Norway 2008 (she had bought the ticket but was so stressed about getting on the plane that she got ill and didn't make it) or Estonia. Being a bit desperate about all of those visits she wanted to pay but  has never managed to, she made a very serious decision to visit me in Norway before I move somewhere else (my mum would love if it was back home). I bought her tickets and was pretty sure she was coming, even though she had to fly with Norwegian Air Shuttle where the crew don't speak English. My mum, having several dictionaries and translations of all signs which she can meet at the airport with her, managed to come to Bergen.

SHE MADE IT!

Bergen is a touristic city, meaning that lots of things are opened only in summer. We started my mum's first day (Sunday) by a walk in the city centre.

Then we took "Fløibanen"  funicular up the hill to show my mum the view over Bergen.

We walked down the hill, my mum enjoyed all the ice and other adventurous "gadgets" on the way :)

We also visited Bergenhus fortress but at this time of the year there's not much to see.

My mum got crazy about the sea and boats. Trying to take a picture of super extra sized boat she didn't see the ice on the pavement, fell down and stretched (?) thigh muscle. We managed to get ourselves to the Bergen Akvariet. I've heard so much about it that I persuaded my mum to buy tickets for 150 NOK (in high season they're 250 NOK). Weeks after her departure I had to listen to her saying that it was such a waste of money. I have to admit, it was not worth it. I think even aquariums in Liberec Botanic Garden (CZ), are better than Akvariet.

The most interesting (and ugly fish) we saw in Akvariet
Mum really wished to take a boat trip somewhere but I didn't know where to take her, so the next day, we went to Askøy island where my previous family lived. We visited the house where I used to work and went for a short trip to the lake nearby the house. It was quite a relaxing day. My mum's thigh hurt quite a lot, so we couldn't go for the planned trip up to the highest mountain of the island.
Me by the lake.

The kids liked my mum immediately because she loved playing table tennis with them :)

On Tuesday morning, we took a bus to the airport and I waved my mum goodbye. There's no need to mention her drama with finding her gate because if she listened to my instructions and didn't panic, everything would go smoothly. I missed my Spanish lesson but I was glad that I got to see my mum (leaving :D).

Off the topic

Někdo se dostal na můj blog na základě vyhledávání slova "porno"????

Svøm deg til Playitas

Keep your fingers crossed for me, so I'll win the trip! :-)

(The rules were pretty easy: One had to swim 10 km between 1st January and 31st March in order to get a chance to win the trip to Canary Islands)

Fashion blogger :D

Viktor calls this style: "vagabund"; I personally call this headline "a great excuse for uploading my pics without feeling self-centered" :)
Cap: KappAhl, scarf: Culture, blazer: Only, cardigan:Zara, tunic: Gin Tonic, trouser: O'Neil, shoes: Raichle

blazer: Only, cardigan:Zara, dress: Zara, tights: M&S, shoes: Gabor, scarf: my mum's
Maybe I should give a shot to my own (vagabund) fashion blog :)) It might be fun to take pictures of myself and tell people where I buy my clothes...:) But honestly, I don't think my style would find many followers :( Fortunately for me, I don't care! :)

P.S. I don't think I'll do it...because just arranging pictures (so there were no big spaces between pictures) took me half an hour...
